Pipeline Safety Professional - Contract

Working as part of SafeTech’s Advisor team for various Clients, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide Clients with high quality project safety support & advice;
  • Coordination of safety initiatives and support for the project;
  • Optimize reporting and relationships with Corporate groups, the Construction Manager and other Construction Contractors;
  • Ensure that applicable governmental regulations and corporate standards are followed during the course of construction;
  • Manage and enhance safety culture and performance focus for the project;
  • Ensure consistent application of the Client’s safety standards and expectations;
  • Provide field safety inspections, reports, and attend all project meetings;
  • Participate in Hazard Assessment Operability Reviews (HAZOP), or equivalent;
  • Maintain project safety documentation in compliance with the Clients Code of Ethics and Security protocols;
  • Work effectively with project team members and others throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This is a position that requires safety expertise and/or extensive facility and/or pipeline construction experience in a project environment. At a minimum, the successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years related work experience;
  • The candidate will have Ground Disturbance II and a good understanding of the challenges involved with ground disturbance on a Pipeline project;
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Teamwork attitude, strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations within Alberta and BC;
  • Designation as one of: a Construction Safety Officer, a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, or certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
